2022 Masters and Junior & Senior National Champioships

Please note there is a change to the dates and format of the 2022 Masters and Junior & Senior National Championships events.
Please note the change of dates to move to a condensed format with two competition platforms.
Competition will take place over Friday November 25 and Saturday November 26 only, with Sunday November 27th available if required to accommodate high entry numbers.
The national Masters Championships will take place first (first 4-5 sessions) before the combined Junior & Senior Championships will take place. 
The WNZ 2022 AGM and Annual awards are also schduled to take place within this event between Thursday November 24- Sunday November

2022 CSA Secondary School Championships

The 2022 College Sport Auckland Weightliting Championships will take place at Avondale College on May 28th.
Etnries are now open; all school Sports Departments have been sent the entry information and athletes must be entered by their schools for this event. Auckland clubs; Please have your athletes contact their Sports Coordinators and provide their entry information (competition category, weightclass and entry total where relevant) in order to be entered by the May 17th deadline. WNZ Announces 2023 World Masters Event

Weightlifting New Zealand is excited to announce the 2023 World Masters Cup to be held in conjunction with the Oceania and Commonwealth Masters Championships in Auckland, New Zealand March 2023. This event is sanctioned by the Oceania Weightlifting Federation and supported by Auckland Unlimited. Exact dates are still to be confirmed, however we are looking at early March 2023 with the event being 7-10 days long. The venue will be Auckland CBD near to shops, cafes and attractions. WNZ Rescind CVC Mandate Policy

With the recent Government announcements regarding indoor limits and the lifting of the CVC mandate at 11.59pm, 4 April, the EG has voted to rescind its previous decision to mandate for all gatherings directly under the control of WNZ (meetings, training camps, courses, WNZ level competitions, etc). , effective 5 April.
Clubs CAN opt to maintain the current CVC mandate for activity under their direct control should they choose to.
It has been suggested that some areas may move to the Orange setting soon - which allows participation indoors without capacity limits. These changes will allow club and competition lifting to return to
